| HOME | OVERVIEW | NEWSLETTER | The Fly Fishers Club of Orange County was founded in 1966 to further the sport of fly fishing and to provide a meeting function for area residents interested in the sport. When founded there were three goals in mind that the club wanted to achieve.
Since then the club has been working hard to reach these goals and to surpass them. The club has designed various avenues to help achieve this goals. Trout in the classroom (TIC) is a science class for students from participating schools in Orange County to learn the importance of preserving our natural resources by examining the life cycle of the trout. The club conducts annual Casting Clinics in the spring. This event is open to the public and is offered at no charge to participants. Basic Fly Tying classes and clinics are offered during the year at no charge, and is conducted by one of our talented members. Every year the club puts on an Auction were all the proceeds go toward club sponsored programs. Every year the auction list continues to grow. One of our newest programs introduced in 1999 is the Mentor Program. The Mentor Program is designed to introduce new flyfishers to the club by participating in both casting clinics and mentor sponsored club outings. There are many other activities the club has for its members. Please take a few minutes and view the additional information located throughout our site.
