Monthly Fly Tying
What’s
more important to fly fishing than having the right fly? Sure, you can buy a
zillon of them but if you can tie your own, you’ll be better prepared to
“match the hatch.” Besides, tying flies is fun and can be a hobby all by
itself. So, thanks to Jim Edwards for getting it started, we are establishing a
monthly fly tying session. This will be open to anyone, club member or not.
Beginner or advanced. Adult or child (with adult). Invite your friends!
Sessions
are tentatively scheduled monthly, on the third Thursday of the month. Each
session will focus on a couple of flies. Instruction will be provided on these
flies by a club member. Club president, John Williams, has volunteered to bring
a couple of fly patterns to the first session and show us the right way to tie
them.
To start with, hooks and materials needed for the patterns of the night will be provided by the club. Participants need to bring their own fly tying equipment. If you don't have fly tying equipment but still want to see what fly tying is all about, come to a session and check it out. If you bring a light, bring an extension cord too.
Fly
tying sessions have been cancelled due to lack of interest and participation.
Meetings are held at the
